Counting macros isn't for everyone, nor do you have to count 365 days/year.

Counting your macros is a tool to help you go from frustrated to flourishing because you will finally learn 🦋REAL portions controls and flexibility if you want to make room for some cookies cake or wine in your day 🍩

But these macro pitfalls will cause you more pain if you try to wing your way through it...

Here are the most common macro mistakes to avoid:

❌Guesstimating portion sizes

If you're not experienced counting macros, you won't be able to accurately eyeball 6oz chicken or a tbsp of peanut butter. Get a food scale! You'd be surprised how easily a few extra hundred calories can sneak their way in.

❌Not planning out meals & trying to wing it

Counting macros can seem like a game of Tetris if you're trying to wing it throughout the day. Planning out meals in advance and tweaking serving sizes will save a lot of time and stress. Plus, you're much more likely to hit your numbers!

❌Not accounting for the extras (snacks, nibbles, and bites)

Accuracy when tracking is vital to being successful. If you find that you're hitting your numbers but not making progress, the next question to ask yourself is whether you're sneaking in extra calories that you didn't account for.

❌Eating out frequently & guessing the nutritional info

Again, accuracy is important. Restaurants are famous for using extras sauces and oils. If you're frequently guessing nutritional info you could easily be underestimating how much you're taking in (which will slow progress).
